I think the best way to enjoy the summer is to put the car away. Look for a town of city that is pedestrian friendly or has a great public transit system. Then, make sure that your list of possible rental homes has a location that takes advantage of the public transit system or is located in a place you can walk everywhere. I’m telling you there is nothing better than not having to drive for a few months.
Next, make sure your vacation rental has the ammenities that you will need. It is suprising, but sometimes these rentals just take advantage of their location and they do not even offer laundry or parking.
The local events may be another thing to look into. Check the local papers and find out how much activity is going on in that town or city. If you are going on vacation for the whole summer it may get boring at times, so try to get familiar with the activities in your area. It is good to do the research, becasue lots of times the best activities are anly known by the locals, which brings me to the next point.
